Primark Latest Collection Picks

FURCOLLARSNAKEBIKER26

I was just browsing on the InStyle website and I spotted the latest Primark collection. I know people have mixed feelings about the store but I’m impressed with these pieces for their trendiness, cuteness and great prices (check the InStyle page for prices and dates on these). My favourites are as follows…   Leather/Pleather and faux fur look sooo right at the moment. I must admit to really fancying one of these jackets with the furry collars. Christmas patterns have probably never been so wearable since…the eighties? The seventies? The.. never? This Robin Snood is just £4 and I just love it because it’s an under-the-radar Christmas pattern, it could be just an abstract… it could be some kind of hipster bird like a swallow, but no, it’s a ROBIN a big fat Christmas-assed Robin! Brill skills. Moustache jumper? Hehehe. This dress is all kinds of beautiful. I don’t know…

Current Favourites: Foundation Routine

September 30, 2012

dim sunday 027

Now the weather is turning autumnal and I’ve lost the *minescule* amount of sun-colour I pick up in July and August, it’s been back to pale and interesting with my foundation routine. I’ve gone from using a mix of two shades of the Rimmel Wake Me Up, to only using the paler shade, 100 Soft Ivory, and pairing it with the Rimmel Match Perfection illuminating concealer. I still really love Wake Me Up – a foundation that punches far above it’s weight. It’s still £3 off at Boots at the moment, making it just £5.99 – such a good deal! I reviewed it back in February and my love of it is still going strong. I wasn’t wowed by the match perfection concealer when I first picked it up as I felt it was a little too pale for me and my under eye area needed more cover. My under eyes…

Fifty Shades of Grey: Shopping

June 27, 2012

If I know my readers at all, I can be pretty sure that the Naughty-Book-Kindle-Download-sensation that is Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James has not escaped your notice! Love it or loathe it, it is most definitely a thing. Like The Secretary before it, it’s going to end up being a byword for sexiness and it’s going to creep into our daily lives, kindles and underwear drawers… oh yes I haven’t got around to reading it yet, too busy writing blog posts for you guys. However, I have gotten around to wondering, as I shopped, if perhaps it hasn’t snuck into my mind another way. I bought myself a grey suit, a grey sweater, grey eyeshadow, a grey lacy bra… oh my god, the power of suggestion! Perhaps it is the weather (grey) perhaps it is the book, perhaps the zeitgeist is just in a grey zone at the moment, I don’t…

What Would Bee Buy: Most Wanted Products

April 15, 2012

As a beauty blogger it seems my mental shopping list of “Oh! I’d like to own that!” gets new additions every day. There are a few products that I’ve tried or heard about that I keep coming back to, the things I’d buy first if I won the lottery, my most wanted beauty products. Charlotte from Lipglossiping recently posted her Lust List so I thought it would be a good time to post mine. The images I’ve used in this post are each taken from the linked page for each product, most are from Boots.com. This post isn’t sponsored or affiliated, it’s just the things I really want! 1. Clarins Multi Active Night Youth Recovery Comfort Cream It’s pricey at £42 per 50ml, but from the free samples of it I’ve used, it’s the best night cream I’ve tried. It’s rich and smooth when I put it on, and in the morning…

You win this round, Rimmel. Wake Me Up foundation review.

Don’t forget to enter the Clarins Blush Prodige Giveaway on Bee Loves Beauty between 17th and 23rd Feb! If I was going to criticise this blog (which I wouldn’t do because it’s not two months old yet, poor little thing) I’d say that perhaps the products I focus on are a little bit too expensive and high end, so perhaps a little bit too much of a leap of faith for the casual reader. So, when sample sachets of Rimmel’s new Wake Me Up Foundation appeared in this month’s magazines, I thought it was a good excuse to do a Face of The Day with more affordable products than I usually use. I’m SO glad I did this because I’m completely blown away by this foundation. You can read about it here on the Rimmel website and it is currently available for £3 off the normal price of £8.99 at both…

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from… magic potion!

Beauty bloggers write about their “Holy Grail” products, but have you ever had a product that goes even further than that? I’m talking about beauty products that are so good they’re virtually a tax on your makeup budget. What do I mean? I mean, after buying, using and getting to know Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, I can’t imagine willingly going back to applying makeup without it. I can’t imagine an alternative product I’d like more. I can’t imagine a makeup day without it. If two things are certain – Death and Taxes, I’d like to respectfully submit a third: Urban Decay Primer Potion. You only have to Google this product, or mention it to any beauty fan, to experience the frenzy of love for it that exists out there.  I was something of an Early Adopter with UD primer potion, and surprisingly, I actually spent some time last year wondering…

Beautiful Travel Essentials

Notice anything different about me? Well… unless you’re looking down my IP address (and I most certainly hope you are not) you probably won’t have noticed. I’m no longer at BeeLoves Basecamp. I’m roaming free around the countryside. I’m Away For The Weekend.  It’s not a shopping trip or a romantic trip, but it’s two nights away while the boyfriend shaped one guards my main beauty stash at home. What should the self-confessed beauty junkie take on such a trip? How many brushes? Lipsticks? Eye shadows? How many will fit? Can I take them all? Well, I thought about all this last night, then I decided on the answers and took some pictures for you before I packed. This may have been a procrastination of the packing, possibly. Anywho… on with the pictures! First up – foundation products. For my main foundation choice while travelling I chose my endlessly capable…

What Would Bee Buy 2011: Part 3 Body and Bath

January 12, 2012
By

Continuing my “What Would Bee Buy” Round-up of my most used and favourite products of 2011 Bubble bath: I am of the sensitive skin persuasion, and one product I have found that makes me feel all soothed and moisturised when used as a bubble bath is Sanex Sensitive Showergel I’ve tried their bubble bath, and I just prefer the shower gel. It’s better than half price at Superdrug at the moment, try it! Shower gel: I was lucky enough to nab the Soap and Glory Big Splendour  gift sets at boots when they were £25 just before Christmas. It’s all beautiful and delicious but I particularly love the shower gel Clean on Me  it’s so creamy and moisturising and it smells amazing. Since I got Big Splendour, I keep stopping what I’m doing and going up to my boyfriend for the usual cuddle and instead going “OH MY GOD we…

What Would Bee Buy? 2011 Part 2

December 21, 2011
By

Here’s WWBB part 2, all my favourite things in hair care…   Haircare Shampoo:I’m going to be completely unconventional and nominate a strong smelling medicated shampoo as my essential pick for hair cleansing. Alphosyl 2in1 Shampoo  doesn’t have a lot of boudoir glamour, it’s true. What it does have is incredible power to clean hair and soothe irritated scalp. It’s the cleaning I like best. My hair is very thick and I really hate product build up on it. Using this shampoo once a week keeps it super clean and shiny and smelling herbal. An acquired taste but I’ve used this for…uhh.. 15 years and love it as much today as I did the first go. Price varies between £4 and £8 (urk) for 250ml depending where you buy it. Conditioner: My hair’s conditioning need varies depending whether it’s lightened or not, but for everyday conditioning and a really reasonable…
