FOTD: Simple and natural… that doesn’t sound right ;)

I always think of brown eye makeup and pink blush and lipstick as a natural look for me. I think this is because of my skin and hair colour, the dark bits on my face are my brows, lashes and hairline, so using that colour for emphasis seems a “natural” choice. When I actually blush (much to my adolescent mortification) I turn a bright cheeky pink, when I bite my lips the colour is pink too. Depending on your skin’s palette, your “natural” colour picks will vary. You can check by pinching your cheeks, biting your lips and examining the roots of your hair but please be careful and do it gently – no busted spider veins ladies   To create this natural look I’ve used the following products: Clarins Extra Firming foundation in 105 Nude Boots 17 palette “All About Nude” cream blusher Mac Studio sculpt concealer NW20 Boots…

January Sale Skincare Bargain

If you guys are interested in trying some of the Clarins skincare stuff I’ve been raving about, get thee to a Boots store and you might just catch a bargain, as the Radiance Boosters gift set is just £13, here online, it is sold out but there must be a few left in the shops. I ordered one from House of Fraser before Christmas, when they had them for 10% off, which was already a good deal. The Daily Energiser Cream is usually £19.50, and with this gift set you also get small sizes of the wash-off cleanser and wake up booster free, in a cute cosmetic bag, all presented in a nice gift box. Getting the lot for £13 from Boots would be a very good deal indeed! Click “read more” for lots of product pictures and details…

A Newbie’s Adventures in Premium Skincare for Special Skin: Part 2

So here is the concluding chapter in my skincare story. There are pictures of my skin without make-up on for your enjoyment, taken this summer, there’s some pictures of my order from House of Fraser, and there is this paragraph: After a week… my skin was better. Much, much better. So much better I was able to go without foundation and look much better than I had with it on a week previously. I was shocked at the betterness. My skin was (by comparison) beautiful. My makeup went on better, stayed longer, the lumps and bumps had gone right down and the tides of grease and soreness at my hairline and “sideburn” area reduced to almost undetectability. I marvelled at my complexion, I actually felt like I was dreaming for a minute there. Wonderful. Click below to read the whole post

I wrote this post back in the summer… It’s all about my especially sensitive skin and how I’ve found some products that help. I was completely new to premium skincare and this is a genuine account of my experiences. Your skin might not be like mine, and, as with all of these things, your mileage may vary , but if you’d like to read about it, click below for the full post. I’ll post the concluding  chapter tomorrow.
