Hey guys! I went for a little pay-day nosey around Boots on Friday and there were so many excellent free gifts with purchase available I couldn’t decide which to buy – heh – ended up not buying anything but I thought you guys might like to know about them L’Oreal have one of their excellent selection boxes free when you spend £15 on L’Oreal at Boots. I love these – I use products from the Christmas one most days! I will probably end up picking this up in store as I fancy trying the nail stencils and superliner, and there are a few L’Oreal products I’ve been hankering after for a while. This Boots 17 offer has been in store for a few weeks but it’s very tempting. Free Get Bronzed kit when you spend £5.99 on any Boots 17 products. It’s presented alongside a price reduction on the Boots…

What Would Bee Buy: Premium Foundations YSL, Clarins and more

Hi guys! It’s been such a long week. I’m really looking forward to having a glass of wine and putting my feet up. Town is absolutely crowded with tourists not enjoying the rain (I don’t blame them) so I’ve taken refuge on the internet this afternoon instead of hitting the shops. This week House of Fraser have 10% off beauty purchases when you shop online so it’s a good time to pick up a big ticket purchase like a premium foundation, if you were thinking of getting one the offer goes until Wednesday 25th.   I’ve picked out my five favourite premium foundations as a little summary of the reviews of them I’ve posted… 1. Clarins Everlasting Foundation Clarins Everlasting Foundation is my absolute favourite full coverage, long lasting foundation. I have dry combination skin but this covers and lasts amazingly without drying or irritating and looks great. Above is the Clarins Everlasting…

Lancôme Hypnose Mascara Review

I’m really enjoying all the products from the Lancôme Gift With Purchase I was given for review purposes. You know sometimes when you get a goodie bag and it’s like “This thing is nice but what am I going to do with that?” well, it seems these guys are all winners. It’s good news that it seems the offer has been extended and it is still available at Boots and online when you buy two or more Lancôme products, one to be skincare. Today I tried the travel size (2ml) Hypnose mascara in Noir Hypnotic. I’ve been looking forward to trying this as I loved the mini Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara I got in a previous Gift With Purchase. I applied two coats and this is the result: Hey, good looking lashes! Hubba hubba! It’s not as huge as the Doll Eyes variety but it’s a gorgeous volumising a lengthening effect with no clumps,…

All is well at the new Bee Loves Beauty HQ

So as some of you might have picked up from the mention of shopping trips in Oxford this past week, the Cornwall to Oxfordshire move was accomplished successfully 9 days ago. It was a huge big deal, a new job for beloved boyfriend, a new city for us both, a new little flat, a new temp job for me, all out of the blue and accomplished pretty smoothly considering the timescale and the immensity of the change . Thank you all for being patient as I haven’t been able to post every day, busy-ness and internet connectivity issues kind of go along with moving. This move means great things for Bee Loves Beauty though! Things are going to get much more interesting around here I think, with more perks and prizes for you readers too. The very best thing this move means for Bee Loves Beauty is that I have been…

Face of the Day: Best Ever Eye Palette

July 7, 2012

Eye palettes are having their big moment lately. They’ve always existed but they arrived with the Urban Decay Naked Palette and it is a thing which is just running and running. Personally, I love them! I’m adventurous, nay, foolhardy with the variety of bright eye shadow colours I like to use and switch between each day, so having a big selection of shades to choose from with pre-selected complimentary shades is great for me. Palettes in general can be a bit hit-and-miss though. They work out pretty cheaply per-eyeshadow, but if you only end up using a couple of shades they’re quite pricey, and there’s also no point having a set of beautiful colours that you can’t use because the formula isn’t up to much. So, to be a really great eye palette, the products need to have a great formula and pigmentation, with colours you’ll actually love and use. Given this,…

Lancôme Icons Gift With Purchase

June 24, 2012

I was hoping to be able to bring you this post at the beginning of June, but between finishing my old job, getting a (squee!) new job, getting a flat, packing up, argh… I haven’t done a beauty counter run since May! Hard to believe for me I’ve been dying to get my hands on this Lancôme Gift With Purchase and I was lucky enough that my lovely Lancôme ladies at Boots Truro had one to give me although it was the last official day of the offer. There is a rumour that it might be extended so I recommend asking at your Lancôme counter to see if it is, it’s definitely a good one if you get the chance to get it. It comes in a really gorgeous little purse/cosmetic bag with a design by Jenny Packham. My photo doesn’t really do it justice, there’s a nice picture of it on the…

What Would Bee Buy: Most Wanted Products

April 15, 2012

As a beauty blogger it seems my mental shopping list of “Oh! I’d like to own that!” gets new additions every day. There are a few products that I’ve tried or heard about that I keep coming back to, the things I’d buy first if I won the lottery, my most wanted beauty products. Charlotte from Lipglossiping recently posted her Lust List so I thought it would be a good time to post mine. The images I’ve used in this post are each taken from the linked page for each product, most are from Boots.com. This post isn’t sponsored or affiliated, it’s just the things I really want! 1. Clarins Multi Active Night Youth Recovery Comfort Cream It’s pricey at £42 per 50ml, but from the free samples of it I’ve used, it’s the best night cream I’ve tried. It’s rich and smooth when I put it on, and in the morning…

Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector Review

March 18, 2012

Pictured above – 7ml sample size of Lancôme Visionnaire LR 2412 4% as provided for my consideration.   I’ve been a fan of serums for several years. Despite my relatively tender age of 31 I enjoy using serums as part of my skin care routine for two reasons. The first is what I think of as the Loveliness Factor, there’s the nice feeling of applying something lovely smelling that feels delightful to my freshly cleansed skin to do that little bit extra to look after and nourish it. Then there’s the Effectiveness Factor  or the “Hey! That really IS better!” effect.  Remember when there was a run on Boots No.7 Protect and Perfect serum because skin scientists had shown it genuinely was effective? This was no surprise to me as I’d been using it since it came out and it did make my skin better!  Sadly, I had a very bad…

Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation Review

March 14, 2012

Lancôme  are promoting two of their foundations at the moment, the multi-talked-about Teint Idole Ultra 24H which I’ve posted about a few times and their “Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfection” Foundation: Teint Miracle. If you visit a Lancôme counter the sales assistant will match your shade and give you a free 7 day sample to try out, like with the Teint Idole.  This is really good news for me because although I enjoyed testing out the Teint Idole foundation, it’s oil absorbing formula isn’t a perfect match for my dry skin type. On the Lancôme website, they describe Teint Miracle as follows: Lancôme invents its 1st foundation that helps to recreate the aura of perfect looking skin. Instantly complexion appears flawless and luminous, as if lit-from-within. Perfection through light – Teint Miracle works to help recreate and boost the skin’s luminosity. Immediately the complexion appears flawless and fresher-looking. I think we can all see what…
