Where have I Bee-n?

Ok, I know, it has been more than quiet around here. I’ve been pretty busy, and there’s some reasons excuses  reasons for my absence. Here’s one of the main culprits… I’ve got Repetitive Strain Injury in my wrists. In fact, I think it is called “Work Related Upper Limb Disorder” now – catchy, yes?  It’s caused by typing, and it means it hurts to type when it is bad. To help it I’ve got these splinted wrist supports to wear. They’re pretty goofy but I am focusing on how much more Batman I look around the wrist area these days. In a much-needed update to my personal technology, I bought a Kindle Fire HD with the help of some Amazon vouchers… It’s absolutely brilliant. It’s been a bit of a frenzy of book reading, blog reading, game playing and tweeting since it arrived a month ago. I’ve been so distracted by…

Guest Post: Lana’s Holographic Hero

Today on Bee Loves Beauty, my lovely guest blogger Lana is back with a review of a re-released cult nail polish: Gosh’s Holographic Hero Until recently I hadn’t been so savvy when it came to trends and in particular nail trends, until I got my recently acquired media technician job at the University of Chichester I didn’t really have much cause to paint my nails. My old job in retail involved a lot of handling and breaking down of boxes and tape, scraping of money of counters and other non nail friendly tasks that were not so conducive to keeping wonderfully manicured nails. Needless to say I was very behind on catching on to last year’s trend in Holographics and only heard about this beauty, GOSH holographic 549 after it was long discontinued and selling on ebay for £30 a time! Realistically, this is not a price I was willing to…

Guest Post: Pink Eyeshadow Review For Goths!

I’m delighted to bring you another guest post from my beloved friend Lana, who has previously written about Gosh Nail Lacquer in Purple Heart on this blog. I hope you enjoy it! I’ll be back with more posts soon xxx Pink, the colour usually sneered upon as a fluffy girly colour that is not to be put any where near the personal bubble of any respectable goth anywhere let alone on one’s face. Or, so we are led to believe and this is the way I’ve always viewed the colour pink, short of hot cerise pink I have hated it and scorned it and banished it from my wardrobe, it’s the colour that I attribute to my sister and my soul is too dark and broody for it, or so I thought. So, when Bee suggested that pink was the new goth I was dubious, but knowing how ‘well goff’ she actually is I was…

I’m delighted to bring you a fabulous guest post from my lovely friend Jo today! As a very clever and wordy lady she doesn’t need a long introduction from me so I shall pass this blog entry over into her capable hands, enjoy! ~~~ Hello everyone! I’ve never guest blogged anywhere before and I’ve never written about make up before, but with the help of the lovely Bee, I’m hoping I can pull off both! The first thing you need to know about me when it comes to make up is that I’m blonde. And I’m not talking choose your own shade, but still have nicely defined dark eyebrows and eyelashes blonde. I’m talking naturally so blonde you have to tilt me right into the light to even notice I have eyelashes blonde. Here is the obligatory no make up pic to illustrate said blondeness (and no, those aren’t hints of ginger you can see!). I’m not…

Guest Post: Lana Loves Gosh Purple Heart!

February 28, 2012

For my second ever guest post, the lovely Lana shares her love of her ultimate nail polish discovery…   I’ve always been a magpie at heart, I’m a real sucker for anything shiny. If it’s glittery, irridescent and catches the light in a certain way I’m all over it, and since I was about 13 I’ve always wanted a nail polish with an oil slick sheen to it. There’s something about that kind of sheen that just appeals to my magpie heart, it’s sultry and beautiful. Sadly I’ve spent many years being decieved by the way pigments look compressed in their bottles and the end finish has never been how I wanted it until I stumbled across 055 Purple Heart by GOSH cosmetics. I had almost given up hope and didn’t expect much from it, but at £4.99 I didn’t think I had anything to lose and boy, it didn’t…
