New Clinique Products: Even Better Eyes

September 22, 2012

Image source A couple of weeks ago I went into Boots in Oxford for a “Brighter Eyes” consultation with the lovely Kerry. I’d been really keen to try the new “Even Better Eyes” treatment. As you know from my endlessly going on about it, my under-eye dark circles are my  main beauty bugbear. I could really live without them! When I first read about Even Better Eyes I was intruigued. It’s designed to lighten the colour of the dark areas over time, as well as visually hiding them from first use. It’s a totally different kind of product from Clinique’s “All About Eyes” which I have tried several times but just can’t get to sink in somehow. Even Better Eyes also comes in a nice tube with a cooling metal applicator which helps it feel cooling and de-puffing. I booked in for my mini-eye makeover. Kerry did a great job…

Free Clinique Gifts With InStyle October 2012 Out Now!

Hard to believe the “October” Magazines are out already! They come out in the preceding month. I think I actually picked this issue up on the last day of August, which seems super early to be thinking of October, but there it is! The latest issue of InStyle has a super selection of Clinique miniature free cover gifts to choose from. I picked the Long Last Glosswear in Air Kiss. It’s a 2.3ml  miniature size, but I very rarely use up a lipgloss so this is fine with me! The other selections are High Impact Mascara, Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturiser or Repairwear Laser Focus serum. If you flip to the offer page of the magazine itself you can also see that readers are entitled to a free consultation at Clinique counters to try the new Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector (definitely looking forward to trying this) and if you…

Hi guys! It’s been such a long week. I’m really looking forward to having a glass of wine and putting my feet up. Town is absolutely crowded with tourists not enjoying the rain (I don’t blame them) so I’ve taken refuge on the internet this afternoon instead of hitting the shops. This week House of Fraser have 10% off beauty purchases when you shop online so it’s a good time to pick up a big ticket purchase like a premium foundation, if you were thinking of getting one the offer goes until Wednesday 25th.   I’ve picked out my five favourite premium foundations as a little summary of the reviews of them I’ve posted… 1. Clarins Everlasting Foundation Clarins Everlasting Foundation is my absolute favourite full coverage, long lasting foundation. I have dry combination skin but this covers and lasts amazingly without drying or irritating and looks great. Above is the Clarins Everlasting…

What Would Bee Buy: Most Wanted Products

April 15, 2012

As a beauty blogger it seems my mental shopping list of “Oh! I’d like to own that!” gets new additions every day. There are a few products that I’ve tried or heard about that I keep coming back to, the things I’d buy first if I won the lottery, my most wanted beauty products. Charlotte from Lipglossiping recently posted her Lust List so I thought it would be a good time to post mine. The images I’ve used in this post are each taken from the linked page for each product, most are from Boots.com. This post isn’t sponsored or affiliated, it’s just the things I really want! 1. Clarins Multi Active Night Youth Recovery Comfort Cream It’s pricey at £42 per 50ml, but from the free samples of it I’ve used, it’s the best night cream I’ve tried. It’s rich and smooth when I put it on, and in the morning…

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Foundation Review

March 28, 2012

clinique RW 001

Along with a few Clinique freebies, the latest issue of Cosmopolitan had a mention of foundation samples available at Clinique counters in Boots. I realise I’m probably getting a reputation for reviewing any foundation I can get my paws on by this point, but it’s fun so… why stop? When I went in to Boots the Clinique lady gave me a sachet sample of Shade 03 in the Repair Wear Laser Focus . I told her that I know Clinique shade 03 is too dark for me so she did me a little pot of the Shade 02 instead. I could see when she did it that this was also much too warm for me, however, I wasn’t buying anything and it was just for a try so we’ll see past the shade mismatch for the purposes of the review. Everybody in? Good, let’s try it! Above is Repairwear Laser Focus Foundation shade…

Quick Sampler – Clinique Tinted Moisturiser mini review

I just tried this product from a sample sachet I got in a magazine a while ago but I thought I had to post to let you know how impressed I am!  This is Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser in Shade 03 . It’s not quite the right shade for me  but I absolutely love how it feels. So much so that I’d really love to buy it even though I don’t even like tinted moisturiser. Oh, people who give free samples with magazines, you really  know what you’re doing with me, don’t you? It’s a light base that is moisturising and sheer but it does set so it doesn’t need powder. It has a dewy, natural-ish finish. It seems to have hidden my blemishes without looking heavy. Oh… stay on my skin and never leave me, moisture surge! I like this more than Garnier B.B. cream, I like this as much…

Clinique High Impact Mascara Review

February 3, 2012

nail haul 013

I’ve been using the free sample of Clinique High Impact Mascara that I got in their brilliant Mascara Swap deal for a week now, and I have mixed feelings. My first feeling is that it was brilliant to get a at-least-half-size premium beauty product for free – Thank you Clinique! My second feeling is… it’s just a mascara. What do I mean by that? Well, basically all mascaras colour your lashes and make them appear a bit longer and a bit thicker, and this one definitely does that. And that is what it does. It is basically all it does. That’s fine, right? It’s equipped with a fairly standard “volumising” style brush. This is a bit disappointing in retrospect as the other choice is lengthening and has a comb instead. I’ve never tried one of those so I am now wishing I’d selected it, but no matter. This brush seems…
