Hi everyone Just a bit of window shopping this morning as Instyle has got pics of a few items that are out this month at Primark and I quite fancy a few of them. Let’s have a look…   “Cool cat jumper” out on Wednesday is definitely the pick of them all. Roll on payday! I love an epic maxi skirt when I can get one. I’m hoping to wear a lot of this kind of outfit this year. I think the studs on this sweater are star shaped. I love the colour and the stitch pattern of this knit. I hope it’s not made of bobbly cheap yarn but I bet it is. I’ll definitely check it out in store though. This blouse is kind of nuts but it’s exactly the kind of mad cat lady gear I wear at home on my own… I picked this because it’s…

Click image to visit the site You’ll have to get in quick if you want this offer as it ends at 5pm on Thursday 13th December. Right now MUA are giving 40% off all orders (minimum spend £10) and throwing in 5 free “Nail Quake” shatter nail polishes with every qualifying order. They’re celebrating reaching 40,000 “likes” on Facebook, which is a lot of fans! They’re a great value cosmetics company. If you’re wondering what to spend your £10 on to qualify, the Undressed palette (£4) is still one of my favourites, and the eye primer and blushers hold their own against the most expensive ones in my collection. They’ve also just launched magnetic nail polish for £2.99 and “Nail constellation” effects polishes too. Not included in the promotion, but looking very desirable in their own right, they’re just launched a full range of brushes between £1 and £5 which…

Where have I Bee-n?

Ok, I know, it has been more than quiet around here. I’ve been pretty busy, and there’s some reasons excuses  reasons for my absence. Here’s one of the main culprits… I’ve got Repetitive Strain Injury in my wrists. In fact, I think it is called “Work Related Upper Limb Disorder” now – catchy, yes?  It’s caused by typing, and it means it hurts to type when it is bad. To help it I’ve got these splinted wrist supports to wear. They’re pretty goofy but I am focusing on how much more Batman I look around the wrist area these days. In a much-needed update to my personal technology, I bought a Kindle Fire HD with the help of some Amazon vouchers… It’s absolutely brilliant. It’s been a bit of a frenzy of book reading, blog reading, game playing and tweeting since it arrived a month ago. I’ve been so distracted by…

Guest Post: How to Cash In on Your Beauty Hunting Obsession

November 27, 2012
By

Hi everyone My friend and guest blogger Sophie has asked me to share an opportunity with you. She’s written a guest post about how you can make some money taking part in market research and you can read it below. I’ve not received any payment of any kind for featuring this, just bringing it to you because you might get something out of it. Let me know if you do! Over to Sophie…   You’re amazing. Know why? It’s because you’ve got something special: an opinion. And your opinion is more valuable than you might have thought. Brands will pay good money to hear from you, and you can earn a lot more than a free product sample. One hour’s worth of your opinion could be worth £100 or more! Why Your Opinion is Worth its Weight in Crème de la Mer When these brands want to find out how they’re viewed…

Makeup Disasters: To Err Is Human

October 1, 2012

I think quite a few of us saw a few makeup hiccups on The X Factor on Sunday night, am I right? I think we can take this as a lesson not to cry-off and reapply our makeup 50 times then go on television. However, it definitely doesn’t just happen on TV. This morning I was in something of a hurry and thought I looked ok. Not perfect, but ok.  I was wrong. About 10am I caught my reflection in the mirror. Blusher ALL over my face. So much blusher. WAY too much blusher. I looked stupid. I turned to my Facebook friends for help! Click for bigger… Some commenteers were more help than others   Eventually I buffed it off with tissues and looked relatively normal for the rest of the day – phew! I must admit, this isn’t my first makeup FUBAR. My worst culprit is getting lipstick…

Win £10,000

Are you the UK’s Smartest Shopper? Given what I know about my readers, chances are you’ve stopped by to check out a review of a product before committing to buy it yourself. This has got me thinking that I’ve pretty much got an army of clever shoppers here reading this very blog, and that you might be interested in Savoo’s competition. If you’d like the chance to win £10,000 plus support to create your own professional blog on money-saving, please enter the competition and give it a shot. I’d be completely stoked if one of you guys win! You don’t have to be an established blogger already (although it is fine if you are!). The competition is free to enter, I’ve met some of the judges and they’re really nice and totally passionate about what they do. It seems like a really worthwhile competition so I hope some of you do…

Save Up London – So Glad I Went!

September 16, 2012

Deal Pro

London is a maelstrom, you guys! I’m sure it didn’t used to feel this way. When I was a student, conditioned by a couple of years of living in Reading, boldly going around cities, frequenting nightclubs that mysteriously opened at closing time and then, upon returning to the spot the next day to retrieve a forgotten coat, had vanished again. Compared to my grounding education in that, London was a breeze. I used to go every weekend. “Let’s go to the zoo! The museum! Covent Garden!” and then “Let’s go drinking in Islington, gigging in Camden, let’s go to the theatre!” It was nothing… a walk in the park. A decade on, travelling to my destination in London, my reaction to being back there can be described in one sentence, and it is this: “How can you all, thousands of people, all possibly need to be in the exact same place,…

Savvy Beauty Shopping – Bee Loves Bargains

MULTISAVE-OFFER

Hi Everyone! Saving money on beauty shopping is great, nice to know you’ve bought a great product for less than the list price any day. However, let’s be honest, almost all beauty shopping is an indulgence – am I right? We all need to eat, travel to work or school, wear and wash our clothes, pay out rent, but we don’t really *need* beauty products. However – we who come here to love beauty with me like beauty products very much, and we’re going to buy them, at least sometimes, regardless of the fact they are inedible and do a terrible job removing stains from clothing, etc… Just because we are  definitely going to spend a little money on them, doesn’t mean we always need to be devil-may-care about the price tag! I’ve got a few hints and tips for you, mostly they are common sense, but I thought it…

A Stopped Clock Is Right Twice A Day

September 12, 2012

company 015

Hey guys! Company magazine is a fashion magazine aimed at …hmm… young, fash-happy females? Younger than, say, me! This month it’s even youthier since this issue has been put together by fashion graduates rather than Company’s regular perky young staff. But I love a fashion magazine and this month it’s just £1 so I picked up a copy.   Look at the things that are in fashion at the moment Wolves? Haunted houses? Dancing in circles? Wait… what does that word in the centre say??? It says Goth! Goth is in, ladies! Cast off the pink floral dresses of opression! Fetch the fur and velvet! Cheap knock-off designer gothness making it’s way to high street fashion stores right now! Be still my blackened, undead heart! Also… Baroque! Baroque is in! Velvet as far as the eye can see, baby! Embellish everything!   It’s also lovely to see this in a mainstream…

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is the One For Me and 2-for-£10

September 8, 2012
By
fresh

Hey guys! We’ve been here before but I feel the need to reiterate my initial conclusion: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is definitely  the best BB cream I’ve tried. I’m not being sponsored or endorsed by them to say so (although I wouldn’t say no if they offered, hai Maybelline!) it’s just that it is so fresh!   Here it is in action on Wednesday I was going out for an eye-brightening consultation at the Clinique counter so I had NO eye shadow, NO concealer, just a touch of mascara and a smidge of something on my brows. You can see my dark circles a bit but everywhere else looks great and it’s all *just* the Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream. Brill, and indeed, Skills there Maybelline! Even Better:  right now all Maybelline cosmetics are 2-for-£10 at Boots! So you can get two tubes of it for £10 or two of…
