As a beauty enthusiast, finding a new place to colour in is always pretty great. Discovering that colour can go on lips, nails, eyelids, cheeks, lashes, skin, lashline, waterline, browbone, highlight, has all been accompanied with the fun of discovery and trial and error. It was with great excitement I discovered that yes – there is yet another thing I can colour in! Not limited to the shades of nature, eyebrows can also rock exciting colour! I can’t believe I haven’t tried this before This little task is yet another job for the brilliant Collection 2000 Extreme Waterproof Eyeliner Pen which is already one of my favourite eye products. I applied it as I would a pencil, smudging a little with a cotton bud to blend any lines in. My first experiment with it, I went for using the purple on both eyeliner and eyebrow as follows:  Too Purple But I…

Beautiful Bargain Brow Kit: Vital Radiance

I first bought myself a Vital Radiance Brow Fill In Powder kit about 8 years ago (… that long? Whoa) . Back in those days of bargain hunting and having important beers to spend my student loan on rather than expensive makeup, the Vital Radiance products were a brilliant bargain find. Vital Radiance is an American brand, it’s a Revlon diffusion line for mature skin. It has cheaper price points, more specifically targeted products, nothing wild or bright, just gentle natural colours and soft feeling formulas. I don’t know if it is still in production or current, but they must have way, waaaay overstocked these things a few years ago because every Poundland and Savers and local discount store stocked the line for ages at £1 – £2 an item.  I gave the products a try because I reasoned, well… if these things make a lady in her seventies look vitally radiant they’re…

Body Shop Brow Kit – the hero returns?

We have been to Crazy Brow Town on this blog before. I’m going to go out on a completely spurious limb here and assume we ALL love Crazy Brow Town and eyebrow make up as much as I do. Ahh… lovely minds in concert. So… back in the 90′s The Body Shop launched an eyebrow powder that was brilliant. In a tiny rectangular green case, it had a single pan of dense powder shadow and a cute stiff green brush which folded neatly in half to store inside the case. Never having used a brow powder before, I didn’t know how good I had it back then. Boy I Had It Good Back Then. Needless to say, The Body Shop don’t make the original brow powder anymore. It’s so out of date that you can’t even find a picture of it on Google Images anymore. Do you still own one of…

Saturday Face of The Day – Boho Bronze

Saturday is a great day for getting a cosmetic groove on, plenty of time to get ready, no work people to look at you askew if you apply the eyeliner with a firehose, ladies at make up counters to talk to and baristas to smile at, Saturday is lookin’ good day. Face of the Day: Eyebrow Redux

Hey guys After a few slightly unusual beauty blog entries, I thought I’d bring you some more standard beauty blog fare in the form of a Face of the Day (FOTD) post. These are usually bloggers showing a makeup look they’re wearing and the products used to create it. These pictures were taken a little while ago and (hopefully) show that the Cosmopolitan Brow Styling kit can be used for good as well as evil! I’ll be using these things: And creating my normal autumn face, got to start somewhere, right?

Eyebrows: Amateur Hour

So, as an adolescent/early teenager in the first half of the nineties, with a natural physical heftiness and an inner gothy streak, I lived at a special time. I came of age at the point in history where eyebrows and shoulder pads were at their very smallest. My physique and my innate taste and style meant I leapt on the fine arched eyebrow and narrow shouldered garment look like a drowner on a life-raft. They were life-giving, they were wonderful, they were me! It’s actually taken me until, well, now, to properly acknowledge that the single-pencil-line eyebrow is no longer the height of cool and is in fact at least fifteen years out of date. Looking back at photos from my early teen years, you would see that I was once in possession of a fairly lush eyebrow. To my very mortification, my brows were expressive, arched and brunette. The…
