If I know my readers at all, I can be pretty sure that the Naughty-Book-Kindle-Download-sensation that is Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James has not escaped your notice! Love it or loathe it, it is most definitely a thing. Like The Secretary before it, it’s going to end up being a byword for sexiness and it’s going to creep into our daily lives, kindles and underwear drawers… oh yes 
I haven’t got around to reading it yet, too busy writing blog posts for you guys.However, I have gotten around to wondering, as I shopped, if perhaps it hasn’t snuck into my mind another way. I bought myself a grey suit, a grey sweater, grey eyeshadow, a grey lacy bra… oh my god, the power of suggestion!
Perhaps it is the weather (grey) perhaps it is the book, perhaps the zeitgeist is just in a grey zone at the moment, I don’t know. But grey does look very sexy and modern and wearable at the moment, especially colour blocked with yellow and lime (perhaps the last we’ll see of colour blocking now, do it while you can!)
On the back of all this, a lady from House of Fraser got in touch and asked if I’d like to feature some of their sale picks on my site, with the theme of the aforementioned furtive adult novel to work from. I was going to come here with some ’50 shades of YAY’ punnery (a word I have just made up) in my comment, but the amazing bra (number 8, giant boulder holders needed here) is sold out in my size

50 shades of disappoint! That’s the one problem with sale picks, sometimes the sizes are out

I LOVE the bra! Not sure I’ll be reading the book itself though, I’ve seen some exerpts that just made me go wtf! I worry it will paint the BDSM community in a bad light as an abusive lifestyle. :s

Any “sensational” thing in any field is inherently disruptive but I don’t think it will do any harm really. I think most likely there will be more books in that field being more widely read and that’s a positive thing
