I went into town today – forgive the generalisation but EVERYONE had blue nail polish. Everyone! Chanel have just launched three blue shades of Le Vernis and every beauty counter lady was rocking them. Every other lady in town was rocking some form of blue nail, although possibly not all Chanel. They all looked pretty good though, blue nails are absolutely having a moment.
coincidence my burgeoning psychic powers, I was also rocking blue nails today! Missguided nails in “Misstique”. I got this free with a magazine last year and never paid it much attention before. However, I really should have because it’s a stunning nail product.
In the image above you can see how the lovely smooth finish and shine makes my real nails look like impossibly neat false nails. I’ve applied one-and-a-half coats of the blue polish and topped it over with a quick coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. I am still experimenting with the Insta-Dri but it seems pretty good so far, I’ll do a review soon. I picked it up in Superdrug where it is currently on promotion at £2 off, £3.99.
I haven’t seen the Missguided polishes in shops but they are available from the Missguided website. This shade is available as a set of three for £10, and the other shades are available for £5 each. I’d be really keen to try some more of these because this one is just so lovely and shiny and opaque and great – hot stuff!
Shine shine shine! Have you got any Missguided polishes, or have you seen them for sale other than the website? Let me know
Just a quick “Greatest Hits of Town” today as I didn’t get around everywhere…
While I was in Debenhams I saw that they have Limited Edition Touche Eclat by YSL for £16.67 rather than the usual selling price of £25. I thought I could live my life without Touché Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent but it seemed the shopping fairy had other ideas! I’ll do a review soon.
I went for my Benefit makeover and tried out the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation which was quite nice, I’ll post about it tomorrow. They’re also promo-ing their new skincare range so if you go for a tryout of the foundation you might get some skincare samples to take home as well, I got a little moisturiser and eye cream which I’m looking forward to playing with. They smelled lovely when the lady put them on me.
As well as the nail varnishes, Chanel have just launched a to-die-for shade of Rouge Coco lipstick called Culte it’s the purplish looking one in this image it looks a bit scary in the tube but it’s so freaking stylish. My boyfriend noted that it looked very “work-y” on me which definitely means grown up and sophisticated (what do boyfriends know?). It’s very expensive for a lipstick and I didn’t buy it but I wanted to!
At the other end of the scale, Poundland have some nice little kits of Rimmel mono eyeshadows teamed up with either a lip or eye pencil in complimentary shade, so you get both together for £1 – bargain!
They also have some Revlon nail treatments and (still) some Outdoor Girl Crackle nail polishes.
TK Maxx have lots of clearance beauty products and some really interesting American imports including blush and eye products by Physicians Formula. Best bargains are probably nail products with lots of W7 duos reduced to £3 and lots of very cheap Nails Inc sets and others. Oh, and there’s some nice New Cid compacts and, tl-dr version is, it has hard to leave TK Maxx without buying anything today!
What else is good in town this weekend? Let me know in the comments!
